Kano guber: APC laments delay in getting Certified True Copy of Appeal Court judgement

Following the confusion trailing the Appeal Court judgement on the Kano State gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Congress, APC, says it has not received the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the ruling.

Media Talk Africa reports that the Court of Appeal in Abuja had last week, sacked Governor Abba Yusuf, saying he was not qualified to contest.

The court declared Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the APC winner of the March 18 poll.

However, the Certified True Copy of the judgement has triggered confusion as it indicated that the court upheld Yusuf’s victory in the governorship election.

And now the APC has revealed a delay in receiving the certified copy of the Court of Appeal judgment.

The party’s legal adviser, Barrister Abubakar Kaka, addressed journalists at the National Secretariat’s media office on Wednesday, shedding light on the unfolding situation.

Kaka emphasized that the APC has not yet received the official CTC of the judgment, leaving the party in a state of limbo regarding recent reports suggesting an error within the document.

He highlighted the crucial role of having an accurate and proper document to determine the appropriate course of action for the APC.

”We have not received an official copy of the certified true copy of the judgement. But we will write and get a copy. If the copy conveyed to us still contains this error, we will take steps eventually.

”What we will do, and we have done right now, is to write a request demanding the CTC. Until the CTC containing that error, which is being bantered around, before we will now know what to do next.

”But, I will suggest that whoever may have received the CTC containing that error, if he was an appropriate person and entitled to a copy, would have taken necessary steps to ask us to see.

”But I will say that the court should have taken the necessary steps to make corrections,” he said.
