The voice of Nigeria’s Director General, Mallam Jibril Baba Ndace, has made a facility tour to inspect some of the organisation’s properties and facilities in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The facility inspection was conducted to supervise and assess the facilities’ capabilities and ensure that they are functioning appropriately.

The Director General inspected the Lugbe transmitting station, where the broadcasting facilities are housed. During the inspection tour, Mr Baba Ndace visited the maintenance room unit, solar power station, substation and alternative energy unit, as well as the transmitting unit, among other critical infrastructure that forms the broadcast on air for listening.

While answering questions from the journalists, Mr Ndace reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the Voice of Nigeria regains its glory.

“My mission in Voice of Nigeria is to ensure that VON is fully operating as an international radio station by putting all the necessary measures and support into restoring its image.

“I seek the support of you, my colleagues, for observation and commendations that would aid in promoting this radio station to the world standard and I also commend your effort in maintaining some of our facilities.

He also said he was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Idris, with the mandate to reposition the station.

“Voice of Nigeria as an institution, that its position is to tell Nigerians and the world stories, has some challenges and we are not going to shy away with these challenges until they are properly fixed.

Voice of Nigeria is an international radio station broadcasting in eight languages, with the mandate to become a radio broadcasting station of first choice for anyone genuinely interested in Nigeria and Africa.
