Osun Governor’s Wife Collaborates with NAPTIP to Combat Gender-Based Violence

Titilola Adeleke, the Wife of the Osun Governor, has called for a strong partnership with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Adeleke made this plea during her recent visit to the NAPTIP Osun Zonal Command in Osogbo. She emphasized the need for a collaborative approach in preparation for the upcoming sixteen-days activism campaign against gender-based violence, slated to commence on Saturday, November 25.

“The fight against the perilous act of gender-based violence requires the collective effort of all,” she stated.

Commending the dedication of the Osun governor’s wife to eradicating all forms of violence against humanity, the Zonal Commander of NAPTIP, Ajiegwu Chinedu, affirmed NAPTIP’s willingness to collaborate with both governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to ensure the safety of society.

“Prior to the establishment of NAPTIP, we witnessed various heinous crimes including organ harvesting and human trafficking perpetrated by unscrupulous individuals,” he remarked.

Issuing a stern warning to perpetrators, the Osun NAPTIP boss emphasized that the law will catch up with anyone involved in human trafficking or engaging in gender-based violence, urging delinquents to stay away from the state.
