The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,689 corps members to Bauchi State for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ stream II orientation exercise. The coordinator of the scheme in the state, Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi.
According to Mrs. Yakubu, the orientation for the corps members is scheduled to commence on November 24 and conclude on December 14 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
She emphasized that each prospective corps member would be granted access to the camp only after undergoing certification. This is a crucial security measure put in place to prevent any form of intrusion or impersonation of corps members.
“Registration dates have been allocated to the prospective corps members, and they are strongly advised to strictly adhere to all camp rules and regulations. Defaulters will face sanctions in accordance with the NYSC by-laws,” stated Mrs. Yakubu.
Mrs. Yakubu also stressed the NYSC’s disapproval of late-night journeys, urging prospective corps members to avoid such trips. She advised them to be punctual, diligent, and to comply with the camp’s prescribed dress code. Negligence of the NYSC dressing code will not be tolerated.
