President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after attending the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Summit hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The President’s aircraft touched down at Nnamdi Azikwe International airport at 8 p.m local time on Wednesday and was received by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

President Tinubu left Abuja on Sunday morning for Berlin, where the G20 CWA conference took place simultaneously with the 10th German Nigeria Business Forum at the JW Marriott Hotel.
During the conference, the Nigerian Leader joined other heads of state and government of CwA member countries, trade partners, as well as heads of international organizations and discussed strategies to improve Nigeria’s economic and business cooperation.
During the German Business Forum, Nigeria secured two memoranda of understanding with Germany: one for $500 million worth of renewable energy projects and another for the supply of gas from Nigeria to Germany.

Also, during the G20 CWA, Germany expressed readiness to invest in Nigeria’s rail infrastructure, thereby committing the interest of the German company, Siemens, to replicating an ultra high-speed rail network project in Nigeria.
At the summit, Nigeria’s president described Nigerians as highly educated, skilled, and hardworking, the most valuable asset that gives a competitive edge in the global competition for new investments.
