The Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command, Mr Tony Akuneme, has emphasized the service’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its employees.

Akuneme conveyed this pledge on Thursday in Abuja during his visit to officers involved in a tragic traffic accident on the Kano-Zaria motorway.

According to a statement released by Mr Ifeanyi Uche, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Akuneme also reassured the affected personnel of the NIS’s dedication to ensuring their full treatment and rehabilitation.

It will be remembered that four NIS personnel lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in a car accident while returning to Abuja after an official assignment in Kano.

Akuneme, speaking to the injured personnel and their families at the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital, stated that he had been mandated by the Service’s Comptroller General, Caroline Adepoju, to personally ensure their well-being.

“I want to assure you that the service is fully committed to ensuring your complete recovery. The CG has also promised to take care of all financial responsibilities arising from the tragic accident,” he affirmed.
