In a recent Snapchat post, Nigerian football star Asisat Oshoala has issued a strong admonition to those soliciting money from her via direct messages. The Barcelona striker expressed her exasperation with individuals bombarding her with pleas for financial assistance, citing reasons such as childbirth and wedding expenses.
Despite her track record of aiding others, Oshoala urged the online community to exercise prudence and align their needs with their priorities. She emphasised, “While I enjoy having fun here, there are certain things that should be common sense. I help a lot of people here, but there are situations I won’t condone or support, such as ‘My Wife Just Gave Birth,’ ‘I Want To Have a Wedding,’ and so on. Use your common sense. Set your priorities right.”
