Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, Applauds Appeal Court Verdict Upholding His Election Victory

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has expressed his appreciation for the recent decision by the Court of Appeal, which affirmed his triumph in the March 18 governorship elections. In a press release from his spokesperson, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, Governor Sani hailed the court’s ruling as a true reflection of the people’s choice.

Earlier this year, the Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had dismissed the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Mohammed Ashiru. Unfazed by the tribunal’s decision, the PDP and Ashiru sought recourse at the Appeal Court, only to face another setback as the three-member panel of justices unanimously upheld the initial verdict.

Governor Sani, emphasizing the significance of the ruling, stated, “This verdict is a testament to the strength of our legal institutions, a win for democracy, and a validation of the people’s will.” He further extended an olive branch to all opposing parties, with a focus on propelling Kaduna state forward in line with the #SUSTAINKaduna agenda.

Expressing his gratitude, Governor Sani acknowledged the efforts of the Kaduna State Elections Petition Tribunal and the Appeal Court, while affirming his unwavering confidence in the judicial process. “It is now time to peacefully move forward and continue to work assiduously for the people of Kaduna without distractions, as the task ahead of us is huge,” he added.

Furthermore, the Governor, alongside the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, conveyed appreciation to the All Progressives Congress family and the people of Kaduna for their unwavering support throughout the legal process. He urged the opposition to accept the verdict in good faith and come together to steer the state towards progress.

As a demonstration of his commitment to unity, Governor Sani pledged to sustain dialogue with all stakeholders and maintain an open-door policy for well-meaning citizens.
