Abiodun Taunts PDP Rival, Urges Cooperation After Court Victory

After the Court of Appeal in Lagos affirmed his election victory, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has called on his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to cease evasive tactics and join hands in the governance of the state. Mocking Adebutu’s serial legal challenges, Abiodun urged him to desist from futile escapades.

Addressing the media at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun lauded the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in Nigeria. He extended an olive branch to all opponents, inviting them to collaborate in steering the affairs of the state, emphasizing their shared desire to serve the people.

“I want to invite all our opponents who have tried their best in their quest to also govern the state; indeed, you mean well for the good people of the state.”

“Having failed at the polls, tribunal, and the appeal, you should come and join hands with us and stop running from pillar to post. If you indeed mean well for the good people of the state, come and join hands with us in our determined resolve to build the future of this great state together,” Abiodun articulated.

Expressing gratitude to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for affording him the opportunity to serve the people of Ogun State, Abiodun also thanked the electorate for their trust. He pledged an administration characterized by fairness, justice, and equity, vowing not to falter in delivering on his mandate.

The governor assured the public of his unwavering commitment to building on the foundations laid in his first term, promising sustained progress and development for the state.

Commenting on behalf of the Ogun State National Assembly caucus, Senator Shuaib Salis of the Ogun Central Senatorial District affirmed the caucus’s staunch support for the governor’s administration. He commended Abiodun’s integrity and resolute dedication to the state’s advancement.

The latest legal validation of Abiodun’s election victory has further solidified his position as the governor of Ogun State, and his call for unity and cooperation is poised to shape the state’s political landscape in the coming years.
