Students’ Loan Application to Begin in January Without Middlemen – Femi Gbajabiamila

Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has disclosed that the Students’ Loan Application system is set to commence without any intermediaries, ensuring direct access for the beneficiaries.

Gbajabiamila revealed that measures are being put in place to kick-start the scheme in January 2024, enabling Nigerian students to secure loans to support their educational pursuits.

During his address at the 35th convocation ceremony of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in Lagos, he emphasized the need to empower Nigerian youths in the current economic landscape.

Emphasizing the seamless nature of the process, Gbajabiamila stated, “Applicants will undergo an online application, verification, and eventual disbursement of funds based on the authenticity of the documents and credentials submitted.”

Furthermore, he stressed, “No external influence will be necessary for qualification, ensuring that the accessibility of this financial aid is truly equal for all.”

Notably, the Student Loan Bill was recently signed into law by President Tinubu, who reassured that no student would be forced to discontinue their education due to financial constraints.

Tinubu also pledged to provide educational institutions with the essential resources to fulfill their duties effectively.
