A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has strongly criticized the dissolution of the party executives in Rivers State.
In a statement released on Saturday, Eze alleged that this move was a calculated plan to denigrate the former Rivers governor, Chibuike Amaechi.
Eze claimed that President Bola Tinubu and the party’s National Chairman, Umar Ganduje, orchestrated the scheme to hand over the state chapter of the party to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, disregarding Amaechi and his team, despite the enormous efforts they invested in nurturing the party to its current stable status.
He cautioned what he referred to as ‘the cabal’ to be cautious of Wike, whom he labelled as a political chameleon.
“I am pleased to observe that both Tinubu and Ganduje have experienced the repercussions of Wike’s actions in his repeated attempts to dismantle the party. To hand over the party structure to him and his allies is nothing but sheer malice and irrationality, as it will inevitably have adverse consequences.
“It is regrettable that all the recent appointments made by Tinubu and his administration have disproportionately favored Wike, who relentlessly battled the Rivers APC, with the vast resources of the state at their disposal,” he remarked.
Eze appealed to Ganduje and the national leadership of the party to recognize that their actions could be prejudicial, given that the dissolution of the state exco is currently sub judice. An ex parte motion was also filed, urging all parties to maintain the status quo – meaning to refrain from inaugurating the interim committee.
