Governor Kefas Condemns Gruesome Killing in Taraba State

Governor Agbu Kefas has expressed profound shock and dismay at the horrific massacre of farmers in Taraba State, allegedly orchestrated by suspected Fulani bandits.

The tragic incident, which reportedly resulted in multiple fatalities, represents the most recent in a series of distressing acts of banditry in the state.

According to the Taraba State Police Command, the victims were ruthlessly slain while en route to their farms.

Reacting to this harrowing development, the governor, through a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser for Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, implored security agencies to redouble their efforts in eradicating all forms of terror within the region.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Governor Kefas expeditiously dispatched the Deputy Governor and senior security officials to the scene, underscoring the imperative of prompt and sustainable solutions.

The governor insisted that he will not countenance persisting threats to the lives of citizens under his stewardship, and has consequently finalized plans to engage local leaders and stakeholders in combating this menace.

Furthermore, he revealed intentions to empower recently elected local government chairpersons to bolster security in their respective domains.

“Security occupied the forefront during the recently concluded meeting of the North East Governors Forum, signifying a unified approach towards this issue,” he added.

Governor Kefas also reiterated his unwavering commitment to allocating additional resources, particularly for intelligence gathering, to fortify the security sector.
