Terry Venables: Former England Manager Passes Away at 80

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former England manager, Terry Venables, at the age of 80. In a statement released by his family on Sunday, they expressed their profound grief at the loss of a beloved husband and father who peacefully succumbed to a long illness.

“We are totally devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband and father who passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness. We would ask that privacy be given at this incredibly sad time to allow us to mourn the loss of this lovely man who we were so lucky to have had in our lives,” the family statement read.

Terry Venables held the reins of the Three Lions from 1994 to 1996, during which England’s football team reached the semi-finals of the 1996 Euros, only to be eliminated by Germany in a heart-wrenching penalty shootout.
