Nigerian Army Unveils Newly Constructed Road in Nasarawa State

As part of efforts to enhance community well-being and strengthen civil-military cooperation, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja has officially unveiled a newly constructed road, equipped with solar street lights in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, North-Central Nigeria.

Lt Gen Lagbaja highlighted that the commissioning of these Special Intervention Civil-military Cooperation Projects marks a significant milestone in the Nigerian Army’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional duties through non-kinetic operations.

Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the unwavering support of the people of Nasarawa State in advancing the collective responsibility for peace and security across the North-Central zone.

Emphasizing the quick impact projects, the Chief of Army Staff emphasized that the Nigerian Army has embarked on various quick impact projects aimed at improving community welfare across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

He lauded Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, a distinguished senior staff, for his exemplary service and leadership in executing the project, describing the completion of these projects as a testament to his illustrious career.

Reflecting on the Nigerian Army’s partnership with communities, he stated, “Our projects are carefully conceptualised to elicit substantial interests from the people who are expected to take ownership for good management. The projects encompass services, amenities, and infrastructure.”

General Lagbaja revealed that the Nigerian Army has executed over 210 projects across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with positive impacts on the communities and contributing to the non-kinetic drive within the contemporary security environment.

He extended gratitude to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu, for his continuous guidance and support to the Nigerian Army, reassuring the nation of the army’s unalloyed loyalty to the president and the constitution.

Furthermore, he reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to pursue both kinetic and non-kinetic operations in collaboration with other security agencies, government ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as well-meaning citizens to enhance national security.

Notably, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, CCMA, Major General Nasakhare Ugbo, underpinned the essence of the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil-military Cooperation Projects in complementing state and local government efforts to provide essential services and infrastructure to communities.

He urged the community to sustain the project facilities, guaranteeing an improved standard of living for the indigenes across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

The event also saw the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, acknowledging the military’s pivotal role in ensuring peace and security in the state, reflecting the state’s commitment to maintaining the projects for the benefit of its people.

Members of the community expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army, particularly Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, for his exceptional leadership and dedication to human and infrastructural development.

The occasion culminated in Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim leading a tour of the art gallery and e-library in the community, showcasing the enduring impact of the Nigerian Army’s intervention in Nasarawa State.
