Kogi Govt Issues Query to Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi Over Alleged Partisan Politics

The Kogi State Government has formally issued a query to the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Gambo Isa Koto, who also serves as the Chairman of the Kogi Local Government Traditional Council, citing his alleged involvement in partisan politics during the recent gubernatorial election in the state.

The query, signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat, explicitly expressed concerns over the monarch’s purported engagement in partisan politics, which is believed to have compromised the security within his domain. The government asserted that the monarch’s actions resulted in a crisis that led to the unfortunate death of a young lady and left several others injured.

The letter conveyed the government’s dismay over the monarch’s conduct, emphasizing the stark contradiction it presented in relation to his esteemed position as a revered Royal Father. The government further admonished the monarch for appearing indifferent while the peace and security of the state were jeopardized by his actions.

In response to these developments, the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi has been given 48 hours to provide a written explanation justifying why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. Additionally, the government reserved the right to request oral explanations from the monarch during a panel review of the matter.

The query, accompanied by the image below, admonishes the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi to give utmost attention to the contents of the letter.
