Taraba Troops Rescue Abducted Victims, Apprehend Suspects

Operatives of the 6 Brigade Garrison, Nigerian Army, have successfully arrested two suspected kidnappers in Taraba State and secured the freedom of two kidnap victims at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) area in Jalingo, the state capital. Brigadier General Frank Etim, the Brigade Commander, confirmed this development in a statement released on Monday.

The operation, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, was in response to credible intelligence regarding terrorist activities in the state metropolis. Acting promptly on the information, the troops conducted a raid on the terrorists’ hideout, leading to the apprehension of Mr. Awwal Bobo, 32, and Mr. Sallau Abdul, 33.

“The rescued victims, identified as Mrs. Fauziyya Yusuf and Mr. Abdulsallam Abubakar, were safely extricated from the clutches of their captors,” stated Brigadier General Etim.

He further revealed that while some suspects managed to evade capture upon noticing the advancing troops, efforts are underway to track down and apprehend the fleeing criminals.

This swift and decisive action by the troops underscores their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba State, and serves as a testament to the Nigerian Army’s determination to rid the nation of criminal elements.
