The commitment of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing the southern senatorial district of Cross River State, to bolster the executive arm of the government in executing sustainable economic plans for the citizens, was reaffirmed during a thanksgiving and dedication service at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN) in Calabar, Cross River State, on Sunday.
Accompanied by more than fifty (50) senators and twenty (20) members of the House of Representatives, including the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senator Ekpenyong expressed his gratitude for the successful inauguration of the 10th Senate, acknowledging God as the source of his achievements and seeking divine blessings for the nation.
“I am here to thank God alongside the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, and his deputy, Mr. Peter Odey, and other lawmakers,” he stated.
Support for National Development
In his remarks, Governor Bassey Otu appreciated the lawmakers for commemorating the day with Senator Ekpenyong, emphasizing their presence as a symbol of commitment to foster national unity.
“Cross River State is a melting pot of diverse cultures, welcoming people of varied traditions, religions, and languages. It is a land of unity and inclusivity,” Otu said.
The governor further assured the state of his administration’s commitment to transform the state with the support of the people, urging residents to exercise patience as the government works to improve their standard of living.

Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong also dedicated his third child to God in a ceremony attended by his father-in-law, a former Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke, and his wife, Onari, as well as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, among others.
