Ijaw Group Calls for Reconciliation between Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminialayi Fubara for Peace and Prosperity in Rivers State

The Ijaw National Congress Worldwide has issued a plea to the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, to reconcile with the current Governor Siminialayi Fubara to foster peace and prosperity in the state.

In a statement released by the group’s President, Prof Benjamin Okaba, the Ijaw National Congress expressed its discontent with the ongoing political tension between Fubara and his predecessor, emphasizing the importance of upholding truth and good administration in the state.

Addressing the issue, the group commended the people of Rivers State for their solidarity in resisting the alleged planned impeachment of Fubara. They also urged Wike to refrain from disrupting the prevailing administration in the state.

According to the statement, “We urgently call on all political players in Rivers State to fulfill their obligations to their constituents and desist from any actions that may tarnish the sanctity of the governor’s office and the institution. We specifically urge Chief Nyesom Wike to refrain from sowing further division under the pretext of protecting his ‘structure’. The political structure he refers to should not be conflated with Governor Fubara’s administration.”

As a reputable organization dedicated to the welfare of the Ijaw people, the Ijaw National Congress’ call for reconciliation underscores the vital need for unity and stability in Rivers State. It is imperative that political leaders prioritize the state’s well-being and set aside personal differences for the greater good.
