Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has issued a stark caution to both Arsenal and Liverpool, advising them to be wary of the formidable form displayed by Manchester City in the Premier League’s second half of the season amidst the intense title race.
During an appearance on BBC’s Match of the Day 2, Murphy candidly shared his insights on the Premier League title credentials of both Arsenal and Liverpool.
“The concern for [Liverpool and Arsenal] is if Manchester City do what they have tended to do most seasons and elevate their performance as the second half of the season unfolds,” Murphy warned.
“They are seldom at the top at this stage, and if they take their performance up a notch or two, the pressing question remains – can Liverpool and Arsenal keep pace with them? I sincerely hope so, but the outcome remains uncertain,” he added.
Presently, Arsenal leads the Premier League table, with Manchester City in the second position and Liverpool trailing in third place after 13 matches.
