Nigeria’s national women’s football team, the Super Falcons, have kicked off their preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Cape Verde. The training and recovery session took place on Monday night at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Under the watchful eyes of interim head coach, Justine Madugu, along with his assistants, the team engaged in a light training session to gear up for the upcoming match.
With more players expected to join the team’s camp on Tuesday, the Super Falcons are leaving no stone unturned as they fine-tune their preparations for the showdown with Cape Verde.
The first leg of the qualifier is set to unfold at the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Thursday, with the return fixture scheduled for the Santiago-Estadio Nacional Blue Shark in Praia on Tuesday, 5th December.
The stakes are high as the overall winners of this two-legged contest will earn a coveted spot at the 2024 WAFCON finals, which are scheduled to be hosted by Morocco.
