Governor Fintiri Increases NYSC Allowance by N10,000 Monthly in Adamawa State

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has revealed that Youth Corp members serving in the state will receive an additional monthly allowance of N10,000 starting from January next year.

The announcement was made during the 2023 swearing-in ceremony of members of the Batch C Stream 2 deployment, which consists of 1,340 corps members posted to the state.

According to Governor Fintiri, this decision is part of the magnanimous efforts of his administration to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

In addition to the existing benefits provided by the Federal Government through the NYSC scheme, the new monthly offer will further support the corps members. Currently, the state government also grants a N20,000 service-long bonus to every youth corps member upon completing their service year.

Furthermore, during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Fintiri donated 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls, and 10 jerricans of cooking oil to support the feeding requirements of the orientation camp for the newly deployed corps members.

Addressing the corps members, Governor Fintiri congratulated them on their successful graduation and urged them to view their deployment and orientation camping as an opportunity to uncover their talents.

He emphasized, “Grab this golden opportunity with both hands.”

Prior to the governor’s address, the state Commissioner of Youths and Sports, who also serves as the State Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board, Wali Yakubu, encouraged the corps members to actively participate in the training sessions and strive to become job creators by wisely choosing from the various skill sets offered by the scheme.
