PSG’s Mbappe Criticizes Newcastle United’s Performance After Champions League Draw

Paris Saint-Germain’s star player and captain, Kylian Mbappe, did not hold back in his criticism of Newcastle United following their UEFA Champions League 1-1 draw on Tuesday night in Paris.

Expressing his disappointment, Mbappe emphasized that Newcastle had nothing to offer on the pitch and firmly believed that PSG should have emerged victoriously in the Champions League encounter.

The match saw Alexander Isak putting Newcastle in the lead during the first half. However, the Premier League side faltered as Tino Livramento’s handball in injury time resulted in a penalty for PSG, which Mbappe converted to equalize.

In a game where PSG exerted their dominance with thirty-one shots on goal, Newcastle United failed to muster a single shot on target after Isak’s 24th-minute opener.

Mbappe voiced his frustration during the post-match interview, highlighting his disapproval of Newcastle’s approach to the game.

He expressed, “It is frustrating because we dominated this team from start to finish. They have nothing. We knew it was their game to have nothing, but we had to finish our chances better.”

Furthermore, he stressed the need for better efficiency in front of the goal, saying, “We have too many chances for a Champions League match. It’s not the structure or the organization, it’s us, the players. We need to be much more diligent in front of the goal.”
