Rapper Oladips Clarifies False Death Rumours

Popular Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Oladimeji, known as Oladips, has come out to debunk the widespread misinformation of his demise, asserting that the news of his death was entirely false. This statement comes after erroneous reports suggested that he orchestrated a death hoax as a publicity stunt for his upcoming album, ‘Superhero Adugbo.’

The misinformation had originally surfaced on November 15, 2023, when a release from his management, disseminated via his official Instagram page, claimed that the rapper had passed away on November 14, 2023.

However, this was soon contradicted by his colleagues in the music industry, most notably rapper Qdot, who took to social media to affirm that Oladips was indeed alive and well.

Oladips, not one to sit idly by, provided video evidence to unequivocally prove that he was alive, inadvertently intensifying whispers that his alleged death was a calculated move to generate buzz for his upcoming project.

Expressing his discontent with these baseless and damaging speculations through his Instagram story, the rapper explicitly held Qdot responsible for the unfounded allegations of staging his own death. He explained how Qdot hastily proclaimed his vitality on social media, adding that it occurred “at a time my family was unsure of my situation.”

In a candid revelation, Oladips expressed his dismay at Qdot’s actions, lamenting that the public endorsement of his wellbeing was misleading and unnecessary, especially given the gravity of the situation. He made it abundantly clear that their last interaction transpired on January 2, 2022, bringing into question the authenticity of Qdot’s claims and implying a certain betrayal of trust.

“I know there is jest, there is notoriety, and then there is truth!” Oladips stated while addressing the matter, before directly addressing Qdot, “Bro, I confronted immense adversity, and anything could have transpired. The last time we conversed was on January 2, 2022. I possess irrefutable evidence and will soon divulge the complete narrative! Why must such deceit pervade the industry, for heaven’s sake?”
