Over 100 Students Clinch First-class Honours as Federal University Dutsinma Prepares to Confer Degrees on 4,367 Graduates in Katsina

The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) is gearing up to hold its 7th and 8th combined convocation ceremony, during which a total of 4,367 students will be conferred with various degrees.

Speaking at a press briefing in the University’s senate chamber on Thursday, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, the Vice Chancellor, revealed that 112 students distinguished themselves by attaining first-class honours. Additionally, 1,131 students achieved second-class upper honours, while 2,476 and 636 students attained second-class lower and third-class honours, respectively.

Prof. Bichi also highlighted a significant milestone, announcing that the University has witnessed the highest number of postgraduate students – 401 in total – set to be conferred during the convocation. Notably, this cohort comprises 11 doctoral candidates, 168 academic master’s degree holders, 75 professional master’s degree holders, and 149 postgraduate diploma recipients.

Beyond celebrating the academic accomplishments of its graduates, the convocation will be a platform to present honorary doctorate degrees to three exceptional individuals. Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Governor of Katsina; Faruk Umar Faruk, the Emir of Daura; and Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi, will be honoured for their remarkable contributions to society.
