The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken a significant step towards enhancing road safety in Nigeria by establishing nine new commands in Kaduna State, announced Mr Dauda Biu, the Corps Marshal.
During the inauguration of the newly constructed Sector Command’s office in Kaduna, Biu emphasized the importance of this milestone in the Corps’s mission to make Nigerian roads some of the safest to navigate globally. He stated, “This inauguration marks a momentous occasion in our efforts to improve road transportation in Nigeria.”
Biu also stressed the inauguration’s significance in shaping the Corps to effectively address traffic challenges and in cultivating a cadre of highly professional and disciplined personnel who are willing to prioritize saving lives on the roads over their own comfort. He added, “This investment is crucial not only for enhancing the Corps’s capability to manage traffic in Nigeria, but also for nurturing a team dedicated to preserving lives on the roads.”
Over the past three decades, the FRSC has fostered a culture of professionalism and excellence in service delivery, solidifying its position as the leading agency in road safety management and traffic administration. Biu highlighted the Corps’s unwavering commitment to creating an unparalleled safe motoring environment within the African sub-region. He stated, “The FRSC has demonstrated an enduring commitment to ensuring a safer motoring environment, setting a benchmark within the African sub-region.”
Biu reaffirmed the Corps’s dedication to enhancing its strategies, programmes, knowledge, and processes to overcome the challenges of effectively administering safety in Nigeria. He emphasized that the organization continues to fortify its internal and external frameworks through robust collaborations to address road safety administration and has transitioned from traditional approaches to adopting the Safe Systems Approach.
