The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his commitment to tirelessly combat human rights abuses and eradicate social injustices in the state.
Speaking at Ikogosi Ekiti on Thursday during the commencement of a two-day workshop for social work practitioners in Ekiti, organized by the Office of the First Lady and Ekiti State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the governor emphasized his determination to create a fair and equal society, free from unjust class distinctions.
Oyebanji expressed that social work plays a crucial role in assisting communities in overcoming their challenges, and assured that his government will consistently equip social workers with the necessary legal and social tools.
He urged the practitioners to lend their continuous support towards achieving the goal of eliminating injustice in Ekiti.
“On the 7th of this month, I inaugurated the gender-based violence management committee to effectively implement the State Gender-Based Violence Management Prohibition Law 2019,” Governor Oyebanji stated. “Let me reiterate that this administration will not condone any form or instance of human rights violation.
“Our vision of shared prosperity is for our beloved state to become a land of peace, opportunities, and progress; a land of honor where the people and community can enjoy the fruits of their labor with dignity, good health, and safety,” he added.
