NAF Helicopter Crash in Port Harcourt: Crew Survives with Minor Injuries

On Friday, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter met with an unfortunate accident in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. According to NAF spokesman Edward Gabkwet, the helicopter, assigned the number NAF MI-35P, crashed at 7:45 a.m. shortly after taking off for an operation against economic saboteurs in the state.

Gabkwet stated that all crew members survived the crash and sustained minor injuries. Currently, they are receiving medical attention at the NAF Medical Centre in Port Harcourt.

In response to the incident, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, is en route to Port Harcourt to assess the situation and ensure the crew’s well-being. Further directives are expected to be given following his assessment.
