Senator Ndume Supports Tinubu’s Decision to Remove Fuel Subsidy

Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South and the Senate Chief Whip has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidy, emphasizing that it was the right move for the Nigerian Government.

During an appearance on the Politics Today programme on Channels TV, Senator Ndume highlighted the significant savings made by the government following the announcement of subsidy removal. He stated, “All Nigerians also agree that some of the hard decisions needed to be taken. You can imagine what we have saved from the period he announced that subsidy would be no more.”

Tinubu made the announcement to remove fuel subsidy during his inauguration in Abuja on May 29. As a result, the Federal Government has reportedly saved approximately N1.45 trillion from earnings generated between June and September, as indicated in FAAC allocation documents available on the Nigeria Governors Forum and National Bureau of Statistics websites.
