The Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin, has taken a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Fatai Adams, over allegations of former PDP members defecting back to the PDP from the APC.

Adetimehin dismissed Adams’ assertions as baseless and highlighted the internal disarray within the PDP, portraying it as a party struggling to stay afloat.

Issuing a statement in Akure, Adetimehin refuted any involvement in the purported swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker committee at the Government House, as claimed by Adams. Adetimehin clarified that the event transpired at the House of Assembly, contradicting the PDP chairman’s statement.

In response to Adams’ earlier accusations of spreading rumors about PDP officials defecting to the APC, Adetimehin countered the claims on Wednesday, alleging that Adams was manipulating facts for personal political advantage. He urged Adams to address the internal issues plaguing the PDP instead of resorting to unfounded allegations aimed at sowing discord among APC members.

“I was not present at the caretaker committee’s swearing-in, as insinuated by the PDP Chairman. The event indisputably occurred at the House of Assembly. It is disappointing that the PDP chairman opted to misrepresent the facts to discredit me and our party. I call on Mr. Adams to substantiate the alleged return of these individuals with concrete evidence,” Adetimehin stated.

Adetimehin’s response underscores the need for factual evidence to support such claims, emphasizing the insufficiency of sweeping statements without a solid basis.

By meticulously dismantling the rival party’s assertions, Adetimehin’s robust rebuttal exemplifies the commitment to transparency and truth, essential in the political landscape.
