The Action Alliance (AA) has strongly refuted recent claims of the Federal High Court in Abuja acknowledging Kenneth Udeze as the national chairman of the party. In a decisive statement, the party has reiterated that Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje remains the sole authentic and recognized national chairman of the AA.
Responding to a newspaper publication asserting the Federal High Court’s recognition of Udeze as the party’s national chairman, Comrade Olu Omotoso, the National Publicity Secretary of the AA, categorically affirmed Omoaje’s undisputed status as the only acknowledged National Chairman of the party.
Emanating from the National Publicity Secretary, Olu Omotoso, a statement emphatically dismissed the newspaper’s publication as misleading, perpetuating erroneous signals to the public and fomenting discord within the party. It is pertinent to note that the Court of Appeal had previously upheld Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the singularly recognized chairman of the AA, garnering unwavering acknowledgment from key stakeholders, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other government bodies.
Moreover, Udeze’s suspension and subsequent expulsion from the party have received validation from various courts of competent jurisdiction. Specifically, the Court of Appeal, Abuja division, unequivocally affirmed Dr. Omoaje’s position as the authentic national chairman of the Action Alliance. The party expressed incredulity at the apparent overturning of the decision by a higher court, alluding to the misrepresentation of the leadership tussle within the party.
Casting doubt on the purported settlement of the leadership tussle by the ruling of the Federal High Court, the party’s spokesperson highlighted that the case presented before the court did not pertain to a leadership crisis. He further decried the lack of balance in the newspaper’s report, alleging it to be sponsored to serve the interests of the sponsor, replete with fallacies and fabrications.
The party’s image maker emphasized that the Appeal Court’s resolution has unequivocally quelled the leadership tussle, debunking the journalist’s erroneous interpretation and labeling it a complete misrepresentation of the judgment. Additionally, he questioned the authority of the FCT High Court to overrule the decisions of the Court of Appeal on two distinct occasions.
In light of these developments, the Action Alliance remains resolute in reaffirming Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as its authentic and undisputed national chairman, seeking to dispel any lingering uncertainties and misrepresentations pertaining to the party’s leadership.
