Why Victor Osimhen Faced a Tough Battle Against Juventus, According to Napoli Manager Mazzarri

Napoli’s head coach, Walter Mazzarri, has shed light on the challenges faced by Victor Osimhen during the club’s recent match against Juventus in the Serie A.
The reigning Serie A champions succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the Allianz Stadium on Friday night, marking Napoli’s third consecutive loss across all competitions.
Despite making his second consecutive start in the game, Osimhen appeared to be a long way from his peak form following a recent injury lay-off.
Mazzarri acknowledged that the influential striker needs to achieve full fitness in order to deliver his best performance.
“Champions inspire others, but they also need to reach peak physical condition. It was evident that Osimhen was being closely marked even when the ball was far from his reach,” remarked Mazzarri in the post-game analysis.
“He will make a difference when he is in optimal shape, but we will lose him to the Africa Cup of Nations, and others will have to step up to the challenge.”
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has netted six goals in 11 league appearances for Napoli this season.
