Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has taken a significant step towards the state’s development by signing the N250.1 billion 2024 appropriation bill into law. The governor assented to the budget at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, marking a pivotal moment in Kebbi State’s democratic journey.
Expressing his deep appreciation to the Speaker, Usman Muhammad-Ankwai, and the members of the assembly, Governor Idris lauded the speedy passage of the 2024 budget. He commended the legislators for prioritizing the welfare of the state’s people and fulfilling their responsibilities with diligence.
“The efficient scrutiny and debate of the budget by the House of Assembly demonstrate their commitment to the welfare of the people. Today, I sign this budget with the utmost confidence in its positive impact,” Governor Idris emphasized.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparently implementing the budget, Governor Idris emphasized a focus on infrastructural development and the empowerment of the people of Kebbi State.
Meanwhile, Speaker Muhammad-Ankwai described the budget’s assent as a significant milestone in the state’s democratic journey. He highlighted the extensive consultations, deliberations, and rigorous scrutiny undertaken by dedicated members of the house in shaping the budget.
“We, as the legislature, stand firm in our dedication to collaborate with the executive arm to accelerate the state’s development for the benefit of the people,” the speaker affirmed.
Notably, Governor Idris presented the N250.1 billion budget proposal for the 2024 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly on November 22, underscoring the commitment to propelling Kebbi State to new heights of progress.
