The Tudun Wada community in the Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has been plunged into darkness for an excruciatingly long period, enduring the hardship of a monthslong blackout. The root cause of this ordeal stems from the breakdown of a crucial transformer in the area, depriving the community of vital electricity.

The consequences of this power outage have been nothing short of devastating, casting a dark shadow over the bustling commercial activities and profoundly impacting the daily lives of Tudun Wada residents, notably those reliant on artisanal and trading endeavors for sustenance.

Expressing grave concern, Salisu Shuaibu shed light on the plight of the community. In a conversation with Media Talk Africa, he underscored the far-reaching implications of the blackout, emphasizing its disruptive effects on economic activities and the manifold challenges it has imposed on the predominantly artisan and trader population of Tudun Wada.

In a fervent plea for aid, Shuaibu urged the elected representatives, including Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and Representative Gbefwi Jonathan Gaza, at both the state and national levels to intervene. Emphasizing the indispensable role of electricity in the residents’ daily lives, he implored the officials to prioritize and expedite the resolution of this pressing issue. The community seeks an immediate intervention to rectify the malfunctioning transformer and reinstate regular power supply to Tudun Wada.

The plea echoes the distress of a community grappling with the harsh realities of prolonged darkness, fervently seeking relief and a swift resolution to restore the illuminating spark of electricity to their lives.
