Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State is extending his heartfelt sympathies to the victims of the recent bandit attacks that have plagued several areas across the state. In a statement released by his spokesman, Suleiman Idris, Governor Lawal expressed deep concern over the intensified attacks in Maru, Tasafe, and Zurmi local government areas by the perpetrators of terror.
However, amidst the grim situation, the governor has also acknowledged and commended the positive reports indicating the elimination of notorious bandit leaders operating within Zamfara State and other parts of the North West region.
“According to security reports, the troops have successfully eliminated Kachalla Ali Kawaje, the bandit kingpin who orchestrated the abduction of students at the Federal University Gusau. Additionally, the significant elimination of other bandit kingpins in various locations, including Danjibga, ‘Yar tsakuwa forests, Munhaye forests, Kauran Zomo forest, Dansadau Forest, and Akuzo village, has been reported,” the statement revealed.
Notable leaders among the bandits who have been neutralized include Kachalla Jafaru, Kachalla Barume, Kachalla Shehu, Tsoho, Kachalla Yellow Mai Buhu, Yellow Sirajo, Kachalla Dan Muhammadu, among others.
Governor Lawal further assured that the state government will provide assistance and emergency relief materials to the affected communities, emphasizing, “We extend our deepest sympathies to all the people of the Zurmi local government area, especially the families and relatives of those who lost their loved ones. We are aware of the sacrifice of the security forces in their efforts to protect the people’s lives. The State Government will provide them with all the necessary logistics and support to combat banditry. We will not rest until Zamfara is completely secure.”
