Tinubu Expresses Condolences on Emir of Kuwait’s Passing

Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State in Nigeria and a prominent political figure, has extended his heartfelt sympathies to the ruling Sabah family, the government, and the people of the State of Kuwait following the demise of the Emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah.

The announcement came in a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in the capital city of Abuja.

In his statement, Tinubu lauded the late Emir’s remarkable accomplishments during his relatively brief tenure, portraying the monarch as a man of immense compassion, peace, and mercy. Notably, the Emir’s decision to grant amnesty to political prisoners and dissidents played a pivotal role in fostering a progressive and stable state.

Tinubu also conveyed his deep condolences to the ruling House of Sabah and all those who are mourning this profound loss, underscoring the widespread impact of the Emir’s passing.

He concluded his message with a prayer to the Almighty, beseeching for the Emir to receive mercy and find a place in Aljannah Firdaus, the highest level of paradise in Islam.

Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah passed away on Saturday at the age of 86. The announcement of his demise was made by Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah al-Sabah, the minister of his emiri court, in a statement broadcast on state television on the same day.

This news marks a significant moment in the history of Kuwait and reverberates across the global stage, eliciting an outpouring of tributes and reflections on the legacy of Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
