José Mourinho Predicts Premier League Title Contenders: Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United Out of the Race

Roma’s head coach, José Mourinho, has offered his insights on the 2021/2022 Premier League race, pinpointing three prominent teams he believes will not clinch the coveted title this season.

Currently, Arsenal leads the league standings after 17 fixtures, amassing an impressive 39 points. The Gunners hold a narrow one-point lead over both Liverpool and Aston Villa, and they are five points ahead of the reigning champions, Manchester City.

Despite Arsenal’s strong position, Mourinho doesn’t see Mikel Arteta’s side as title contenders, expressing his skepticism about their capacity to sustain a championship campaign. Mourinho went on to exclude two of his former teams, Chelsea and Manchester United, from the potential title challengers.

During an episode of the Obi One Podcast featuring John Mikel Obi, Mourinho shared his thoughts, stating, “It is not the rivalry… it isn’t the right moment for them [Arsenal]. Of course Chelsea is not going to win it, that’s out of the question, so I don’t think about Chelsea. Of course Manchester United is not going to win it, I don’t speak about Man United too, so it’s going to be these three and out of these three I would be happy for Arsenal to do it.”

Mourinho’s assessment adds a layer of intrigue to the Premier League narrative, as he unequivocally earmarks Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United as clubs that are unlikely to emerge victorious in the title race.

This bold proclamation from one of football’s most enigmatic figures serves as a captivating prelude to the unfolding drama of the Premier League season, igniting fervent discussions among fans and pundits alike.
