Sergio Aguero’s Pick: Garnacho’s Overhead Kick Trumps Rooney’s for Manchester United

In a recent revelation, Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero made a bold choice by favoring Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho’s recent overhead kick over Wayne Rooney’s iconic 2011 strike.
The young Garnacho’s extraordinary goal swiftly put Man United in the lead within three minutes during their impressive 3-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on November 26, 2023. His acrobatic finish from inside the box left Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, utterly helpless.
On the other hand, Rooney’s memorable overhead kick took place during the Manchester derby in 2011. When Aguero was asked about his preference, he expressed his admiration for Garnacho’s feat, emphasizing that Rooney’s goal was against their arch-rivals, Manchester City.
“Wheeeew, what a goal! That has to be the best goal of 2023. When I saw it, I was awestruck,” Aguero enthusiastically exclaimed. “It is not easy to score a goal like that. Garnacho’s goal and Rooney’s goal against City are both great goals. For the physical prowess behind them and the sheer beauty of the goal. But I choose Garnacho’s for one major reason: Rooney scored against City!” Aguero remarked in an interview with Stake.
Aguero’s preference has undoubtedly sparked conversations and debates among football enthusiasts worldwide, igniting a fresh perspective on the art of goal-scoring in one of the most fierce rivalries in football history.
