Former Nasarawa State House of Assembly member, Musa Salihu Iyimoga, has made a significant political move by officially joining the All Progressives Congress (APC). The seasoned politician, renowned for his role representing the Doma North Constituency in the 6th Assembly, publicly declared his allegiance to the APC during a gathering of supporters and officials at his Sabon Gari ward in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Iyimoga’s decision to join the APC comes after his recent departure from the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), the platform on which he was elected during the 2019 general elections. Prior to this shift, the former lawmaker had been actively involved in seeking re-election in the upcoming 2023 general elections. However, his bid for continuity in office faced defeat against the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mohammed Oyanki.
The move by Iyimoga to align himself with the APC holds immense significance within the political landscape of Nasarawa State and could potentially impact the dynamics of the forthcoming elections. With his extensive experience and proven track record, his decision has the potential to influence the political currents in the region. This transition marks a new chapter in his political journey and sets the stage for him to further contribute to the development and governance of Nasarawa State under the APC’s banner.
As the 2023 general elections draw closer, the inclusion of a prominent figure like Musa Salihu Iyimoga in the APC ranks is poised to reverberate across the state’s political realm, signifying the intricate web of alliances and realignments that shape the Nigerian political landscape.
