In preparation for the festive season, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken proactive measures by deploying 800 personnel for special patrol operations in Benue State. The goal is to ensure a safe and accident-free Christmas celebration.
Speaking to journalists in Makurdi, Sector Commander Corps Commander Stephen Ayodele emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations. He cautioned motorists against using worn-out tires, overloading vehicles, speeding, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The deployed personnel, consisting of regular and special marshals, have been strategically stationed to focus on traffic hotspots and accident-prone areas. These include Wurukum Roundabout, Benue Link’s U-turn, SRS Junction, Bolek Filling Station Junction, along Modern Market road in Makurdi town, and the Agan Toll Gate.
Beyond enforcement, Ayodele assured the public that the FRSC is committed to providing timely assistance to road accident victims. The command aims to prioritize swift and efficient response to any incidents that may occur during the holiday period. With these measures in place, the FRSC is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and well-being of all road users in Benue State.
