APC Accused of Plotting to Establish One-Party State in Nigeria, Says PDP

The political turmoil in Rivers State has escalated, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) of scheming to annihilate opposition and create a one-party state in the nation. In response, the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) issued a stern warning to its members while reaffirming its commitment to providing steadfast leadership.

During an emergency meeting, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, emphasized the party’s determination to ensure stability, growth, and effective governance, particularly in Rivers State. He condemned reckless conduct and statements by certain leaders and urged party members to comply with the PDP’s constitution to maintain unity and integrity.

The NWC, under the Acting Chairmanship of Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, remains resolute in its leadership, steadfast in the face of the APC’s attempts to erode opposition and establish a single-party system. The PDP reassured its members, stakeholders, and supporters of its unity and strength in Rivers State and across the country, despite the prevailing challenges.

The PDP’s accusation against the APC adds fuel to the intensifying political struggle in Nigeria. As tensions mount, the prospect of a one-party state looms large, prompting concerns among political observers and citizens alike. The gravity of these allegations underscores the deep-seated divisions and power dynamics at play in Nigerian politics, with far-reaching implications for the nation’s democratic future.
