In a bold move aimed at motivating performance and acknowledging hard work, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State presented a fleet of 40 SUVs, four Hilux vans, and 25 ambulances to various segments of the state on Friday. The ceremony, held at the prestigious Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, witnessed the governor’s significant allocation of resources to enhance service delivery and emergency response within the state.
The presentation, which included three brand new firefighting vans for the state’s Fire Service, was part of Governor Bello’s drive to stimulate growth and reward dedication. Notably, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf, was conferred with a jeep and two supporting cars, with his deputy, majority leader, and the other 22 members also receiving vehicles in different classes and brands. Additionally, nine vehicles were allocated to the judiciary for distribution among the state’s deserving judges.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bello urged the recipients to interpret the gesture as an impetus to better serve the state, fostering its advancement and progress. Furthermore, the allocation of 25 ambulances to the local governments, with each of the 21 LGAs receiving one for their primary healthcare centres, and three designated for the referral hospitals in the three senatorial districts, exemplified the governor’s commitment to bolstering the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
