Nigeria National League Upholds Zero Tolerance Policy Against Violence

In a firm stance against misconduct, the Nigeria National League (NNL) has reinforced its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of violence that could tarnish the league’s integrity. Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman, the league’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized this message in his address to clubs nationwide, lauding their collaboration, resilience, and commitment to the league’s revitalization efforts.

Abdulrahman not only commended the clubs for their cooperation but also urged them to persist in enlightening their supporters about the repercussions of engaging in violent behavior before, during, and after league matches. This call to action serves as a preemptive measure to maintain a safe and respectful environment within the league.

Reflecting the seriousness of the league’s stance, Mailantarki Care, Sokoto United, and Ijebu United were recently sanctioned and cautioned by the league’s disciplinary committee for breaching conduct regulations. Additionally, more than five referees have been sidelined due to unprofessional behavior displayed during league matches.

The NNL’s unwavering commitment to upholding fair play and sportsmanship underscores its dedication to fostering a positive and secure footballing environment. By issuing strict penalties and continually advocating for peaceful conduct, the league aims to set a formidable example for football governance in Nigeria and beyond.
