In a special Christmas message, Mr. Philip Agbese, the Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, has urged Nigerians to continue praying for President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly. He emphasized the importance of prayer as a means of supporting leaders in delivering services to the nation, referencing the biblical teaching to pray for those in authority.
Agbese highlighted the significance of leaders having peace of mind in order to effectively govern and administer, suggesting that prayers for wellness, good judgment, safety, grace, and success are obligatory for all leaders across every level. He encouraged a shift from criticism and casting blame towards a more supportive approach, particularly in times of celebration such as Christmas.
Expressing gratitude towards the military for their efforts in combating insurgencies, Agbese attributed the reduction in reported cases of attacks on worship houses and worshippers during Christmas celebrations to the strides made by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and his team.
Representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, Agbese highlighted the peaceful Christmas celebrations across the nation and called for recognition and support for the armed forces and security personnel who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the country.
He underscored that the sacrifices made by the security and Armed Forces are immeasurable and urged every patriotic Nigerian to offer their support, prayers, and demonstrate love and care towards these individuals.
As Nigeria continues to navigate through its governance and security challenges, Agbese’s call for unity through prayer resonates as a timely and vital message, urging citizens to rally behind their leaders and security forces for the greater good of the nation.
