Benue State Governor Denies Rift with SGF Akume, Emphasizes Unity and Progress

In a bid to quell the swirling rumors of a discord with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State unequivocally refuted the alleged rift. During a symposium in Makurdi to commemorate his birthday, Alia lauded Akume as a national pride and the patriarch of Benue State.

Addressing the audience, Alia dismissed the speculations as the product of opportunists, chaos-mongers, and mischief-makers. He urged the populace to reject these unfounded rumors, emphasizing the collective commitment to truth, unity, and progress. “For pockets of disenchanted party members,” Alia revealed ongoing discussions to address grievances while prioritizing the will of the electorate.

“I want to unambiguously debunk the circulating rumours of discord between the SGF and myself,” declared Alia. “The said fracas is only a figment of the imagination crafted by those who seek to profit from the crisis. I therefore enjoin each and every one of us to dismiss such baseless notions and focus on the shared commitment to truth, unity, and progress that defines our collective journey.”

The governor’s resounding declaration aims to allay concerns and reiterate the dedication to addressing internal dissent while upholding the populace’s collective mandate.
