Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu, describing it as a tragic loss. In a heartfelt condolence message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, the governor extended his sympathies to the acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s family, and the people of Ondo.

Governor Abiodun reminisced on Akeredolu’s unwavering resilience and described him as a tenacious fighter throughout his life. Akeredolu, who served as the chairman of the South West Governors Forum, passed away in Lagos at the age of 67.

Highlighting Akeredolu’s remarkable achievements, Governor Abiodun acknowledged his role as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). He emphasized Akeredolu’s commitment to fairness and equity, particularly during his tenure as the chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum leading up to the 2023 presidential election.

Governor Abiodun further lauded Akeredolu as a visionary leader who dedicated himself to the welfare of his people and the pursuit of social justice.
