In a move set to bolster regional connectivity, Angola’s national airline, TAAG, has announced plans to increase its daily flights between Luanda and Lagos, Nigeria, starting January 8, 2024. The decision comes as part of the airline’s strategic efforts to meet the growing demand for travel between the two countries and position itself as a key player in the African aviation landscape.
Currently, TAAG operates five weekly flights on the Luanda-Lagos route, utilizing a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with a capacity of 120 passengers, including 102 in economy class and 12 in business class. By transitioning to daily flights, the airline aims to provide enhanced flexibility and convenience for passengers and further facilitate business and leisure travel between Angola and Nigeria.
Nigeria, renowned as one of Africa’s largest economies, holds significant potential for air travel, particularly in the corporate segment. TAAG’s decision to increase flights to Lagos aligns with the rising demand for reliable air transportation between the two countries, ultimately fostering stronger economic and cultural ties.
