Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has shed light on the club’s approach to the upcoming January transfer window. In a press meeting, Arteta disclosed that the club has identified a shortlist of potential players for recruitment.
Arteta emphasized the team’s need to bolster its squad and clarified that there are no plans to offload or loan out any players at present. He stressed the urgency of reinforcing the squad to address recent vulnerabilities exposed in crucial positions.
“We are really short at the moment. There are positions where we’ve been exposed in the last few weeks. Hopefully, we’ll get players back; in what condition and when, that’s a different condition,” said Arteta.
The manager acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the transfer market but affirmed the club’s readiness to seize opportunities for squad enhancement.
“We have certain targets and ideas. We don’t know how the squad is going to look in two weeks. It’s a very tricky market that shifts quite quickly. If there is something that can improve the squad, we’re always going to be open to doing that,” Arteta added.
The remarks from Arteta indicate Arsenal’s proactive stance in scouting potential reinforcements while navigating the challenges of the fast-paced and competitive transfer landscape.
