In a move to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has given the green light for a N10,000 wage award for all civil servants in the state. Additionally, pensioners are set to receive a N5,000 allowance in a bid to mitigate the effects of the subsidy cut.
The announcement was made by the state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Isyaku, as conveyed by the Governor’s media aide, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, in Katsina on Thursday.
“This proactive step underscores the governor’s commitment to gradually introducing measures aimed at alleviating the repercussions of subsidy removal,” remarked Kaula-Mohammed.
Payment of the award is slated for January 2024, as shared by Kaula-Mohammed.{Date: January 2024}
