In a thrilling match at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar-Mata, Kano, Kano Pillars emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Kwara United in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The game, which attracted a large crowd, saw both teams squander numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Kwara United initially took the lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Emmanuel Agaba. However, Kano Pillars swiftly responded, with Muhammad Aminu leveling the score just before halftime. The home team ultimately clinched the win with a goal from Mustafa Ibrahim in the 90th minute, much to the delight of the cheering home fans.
Following the match, Kwara United coach, Kabiru Dogo, praised his team for their impressive performance and acknowledged the fortune that favored the home side.
Dogo also lauded Kano Pillars for their tenacity and fighting spirit on the field. In response, Pillars’ Coach, Abdu Maikaba, expressed his anticipation of the challenging nature of the game, acknowledging the skill and talent of Kwara United’s players.
