The All Progressives Congress (APC) is gearing up to introduce a groundbreaking initiative in 2024, with the announcement of the establishment of a National Institute of Progressive Studies. This bold move was unveiled by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

In a conversation with State House Correspondents following his meeting with the APC National Working Committee in Lagos, Ganduje revealed that the institute is poised to become a pivotal platform for promoting democratic values and principles within the party and across the nation.

Ganduje emphasized that the primary objective of the National Institute of Progressive Studies is to educate and enlighten both APC members and the general public on the fundamental principles of democracy. This includes fostering internal democracy, mitigating hate speech, and ensuring adherence to legal frameworks governing elections and other processes.

According to Ganduje, the institute will collaborate closely with the government to develop policies that foster and uphold democratic ideals.

The move signifies a concerted effort by the APC to strengthen democratic governance and political discourse, positioning itself as a catalyst for promoting democratic norms and values in Nigeria.

The establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies marks a significant stride towards empowering citizens with a deeper understanding of democratic principles and shaping a political culture rooted in transparency, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. As the APC charts this new course, it signals a resolute commitment to nurturing a political landscape that thrives on democratic ethos, inclusivity, and civic engagement.
